As you build up your network marketing business you want to be sure to remember to start an investment plan as soon as possible. You can not rely on anyone but yourself when it comes to supporting you in the retirement years. Social Security will probably be bankrupt by the time you get to utilize it. This is one of the main reasons I decided to go into business for my self, I wanted to have a stream of income to fall back on when I quit my regular job. As it worked out I didn’t have to wait that long.

The big question is what kind of investments will you make. The last year has not been good to the stock market but in reality it has still offered the best return over time. Investing in the stock market today is still a good idea when you are putting away money that you intend to let grow. I have been investing for twenty years and sometimes my balance goes down, like over the last year, but most of the time it goes up. I am sold on having stocks as a strong leg of your investment portfolio.

Of course there are other investment vehicles that can be used but over time stocks have offered the best value. I am putting more money overseas because of the potential problems with the dollar but I still think US equities are a great vehicle for growth.

My Dogs Bed Is Better Than Mine

I had a reader write to me and say they would like for this blog to be a little more personal along with the MLM lead generation information I provide. I have never tried to offer personal information on a blog because I thought people were only interested in “the facts and nothing but the facts”. I guess I was wrong.

Anyway, I thought I would talk about our dogs as they are important to my family. We have three. A 4 year old black lab/German Shepard cross and two 3 year old Rotweillers. The lab/shepard is actually my wife’s dog which leaves me with the rotties. They are a brother and sister and the female belongs to my daughter but she lives in Hawaii now so I get the dog.

These dogs are usually treated better than me in the family which is usually how it goes I think. They are so spoiled that they even get a heated dog bed when the winter nights get too cold. I know. This sounds crazy because after all they are dogs right but they need to be comfortable. It does get pretty cold here so I suppose it is a good thing.

They also have their own condo. Well actually, it is a two story dog house. They had a very nice 4′ x 8′ dog house but they couldn’t get along and one of the dogs always ended up in the rain. I built a second story on the dog house and now the two males lounge around up stairs while the female sleeps down.

There are several ways to acquire a mlm lead list and use it to grow your business. One method that is currently in vogue is to buy mlm lead lists from a company whose main goal is to generate the lists of names that go on these network marketing lead lists. The problem with buying one of these lists is you really don’t know where the names came from. These names can be collected in a number of different ways and some are better than others.

The best mlm lead list is one that is comprised of names of people who have actually opted in somehow to get more information about a multi-level marketing opportunity. These people are ready to go and are only trying the find the program that matches them the best before they make the jump to a business. I read a question the other day about how to tell the difference between a new mlm opportunity and a pyramid scheme. I think this is legitimate question for anyone who is interested in starting a work at home business. I do believe that a good mlm business is well worth the time and effort is takes to set up and run. The key is to find the offer that seems right for you and this is something I would spend time every day looking into. Search out different opportunities and absolutely, positively do not jump into the first one you come across. I also would be careful of new mlm opportunities.

Supposedly new mlm companies come a long all the time so how do you setperate the ones with real potential from the ones which will take your money and run. If I were starting out in multi-level marketing today I would pick a company with a proven track record to start my business in. You will have a lot of things to learn and the longer a company has been in business the better their training will be. A new mlm company will try to sell you on the opportunity because the say it is “getting in on the ground floor.” It may get in there but the question is will the company go up in popularity of stay on the floor.

If is very common for a new network marketing company to approach their recruiting from the stand point of “you need to get in now before this thing takes off like a firework.” Their point is that in a week or a month everyone will know about the offer and all the easy pickings will be gone. Do not fall for the tried and true time limit offer. There are two reasons to run when you hear this. First, if the company expands that much in the first month then it is either going to skyrocket up and explode, or it really is a business with a great idea in which case it will continue to grow more and more. Second, almost always when this time limit method is used it is to hide some facts from the person it is being uses on. They want you to hurry up and make a decision because they know if you really take time to look at the new mlm opportunity you will find that it is lacking is substance and a future.

MLM news briefs are rife with the newest mlm opportunities and how you absolutely must sign up today if you want to get in and make a killing. But how many of these companies actually do grow into big enterprises let alone last more than a year or two? Not many. Most of them implode once the members realize that there is not any growth potential other than that which is experienced by the hype.

A well run network marketing business can make distributors who are willing to work and promote the business good incomes. I would stay with proven mlm companies to start and then branch into new mlm opportunities as you learn more about how the business works.

Don’t Underestimate A MLM Email Lead Program

We all know that everyone hates spam. Seeing email in our inbox from something that we didn’t sign up for, and worse yet, being blasted by email after email, trying fruitlessly to figure out their method for unsubscribing and having our emails to get off the mailing list being sent back as undeliverable completely sucks. This is why many people shy away from using an MLM email lead list, and yet an email lead program is potentially the most effective multi-level marketing tool that you have because it can reach so many people so quickly.

The first email that you send to your MLM Email leads should be personal if you want to build a relationship that will allow you to send future correspondence en masse. Why An MLM Business Is Just A Business

This post is for those who go through life with a predisposed opinion of MLM businesses, without knowing the actual facts behind it. The truth is, everything is a MLM business and I am going to prove that right here with some case studies. First, let’s define an MLM or Network Marketing Business. MLM stands for Multi-Level Marketing, and the easy definition of an MLM business is one that pays each “level” or tier, a certain percentage from a product or service. The higher tiers generally make more, not because they have a larger percentage but because they make a smaller percentage off of higher volume.

Most people think of multi-level marketing as work from home, or a MLM home business opportunity, and while it is true that there are many MLM home based business types out there let’s start with something that isn’t a multi-level network marketing home business. To start with, let’s examine a company that most people are aware of, and nearly all who are aware know the business structure of. The Kirby Company, which makes and sells high quality vacuum cleaners door to door. The Kirby Company business model starts with the factory at the top, and then it passes down to the next major level, the distributors. The distributors are those who own a regional franchise of the company. The next major level is the sales force, which the company calls dealers.

The factory makes the vacuum, let’s assume at a cost of $500 per unit, and sells it to the distributor. The final retail price on a Kirby Vacuum is between $1300 and $1500 dollars, so let’s say that the distributor buys it for $800. The distributor then sells the machine, on a commission basis, to his or her distributors for let’s say, $1000. This gives the distributor a profit each time they buy one, or sell one for him. This also puts a couple of hundred dollars per machine in the dealer’s pocket. Sounds like MLM right?

Let’s examine another company. Let’s call it Jackson & Jackson and say that it sells shampoo, and other hygiene product, especially baby products. Now, J & J makes a bottle of baby powder at their factory for .50 cents. They turn around and sell it to their main distributors, which we shall leave unnamed, say at a cost of .80 cents. The distributors turn around and sell it to the stores, who buy it for $1.00 per bottle, and the store marks it up 100-200 percent, which is common practice and sells the baby powder for $2.39. Now, you tell me what the difference is.

As you can see the network marketing model is really no different than most other business models. The product passes through layers in the distribution channel and at each layer a profit is taken. With a MLM business, you get a profit on every level of sales representative you bring into the business.
